Tonko, MTI Discuss Operations and Local Economic Development at Albany Site

These on-site experiences and face-to-face discussions with innovative industry leaders in the Capital Region are critical to my ability to fight in Congress for the needs of workers and entrepreneurs in our communities.

U.S. Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20) toured Mechanical Technology Incorporated (MTI) in Albany Monday to discuss with senior leadership their most recent contract with the United States Air Force and to tour the business’ operations. Tonko routinely tours Capital Region businesses – averaging about one per week – to gain a better understanding of what Congress can do to help local job creators the tools they need to expand and hire in the region. The United States Air Force recently awarded MTI a $9.35 million contract for the supply of vibration measurement and balancing systems along with associated accessories and maintenance.

Mechanical Technology, Incorporated (MTI) is engaged in the design, manufacture, and sale of test and measurement instruments and systems through its subsidiary MTI Instruments, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets precision linear displacement solutions, vibration measurement and system balancing solutions, and wafer inspection tools. These tools and solutions are developed for markets that require the precise measurements and control of products processes for the development and implementation of automated manufacturing, assembly, and consistent operation of complex machinery.
