Census Bureau Manufacturing Surveys Workshop, Monday, March 13, 8:00-11:00 AM, at the Capital Region Chamber. Hosted by the Office of Congressman Tonko and the United States Census Bureau. Learn about the business data collected and released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Learn more about the Annual Survey of Manufactures (ASM). Why it's conducted, what data are available, who uses the data, upcoming changes for the 2016 collection starting in March 2017. Find out how you can access both business and demographic data released by the Census Bureau to help you make informed decisions. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet or other wi-fi enabled mobile device for maximum involvement. There is no charge for this workshop. Did you know that there is $2 billion available to small businesses for innovation in research and new product development? The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs provide federal funding for your innovation. Attend the workshop and find out how to apply. FEMA is offering new Hazard Mitigation Assistance Information - Hazard mitigation projects that reduce the impacts of flood and drought conditions include aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), flood diversion and storage (FDS), and floodplain and stream restoration (FSR). Additional information is now available to help communities applying for Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants comply with application requirements for these types of projects. The documents provide more detailed information on the ASR, FDS, and FSR projects, the information needed for a Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant application, potential resources, and examples.
