Featured Funding OpportunitiesWorkforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC)WORC provides grant funds to support workforce development activities that prepare workers for good jobs in high-demand occupations in rural communities. NBRC partners with the Department of Labor to provide grantees with technical assistance to promote successful projects and strong outcomes for workers and businesses.  Successful applicants will develop grant projects focused on at least one of the following high growth and emerging industry sectors:skilled trades/construction,health care,information technology,manufacturing,domestic energy production,and business/professional services.Applications Due July 23, 2026New York Providing Local Access to Essential Sustenance (NY PLATES) Capital Grant ProgramLast week, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that funding is available from the new $10 million NY PLATES Capital Grant Program. This funding will support food banks and other organizations that provide emergency food assistance in building the modern facilities, equipment, and infrastructure needed to serve more families across the state.The application period for the NY PLATES capital grant program opened on July 8, 2026, and applications must be submitted by August 20, 2026. Awards are expected to be announced no earlier than October 20, 2026.National Park Service: Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) ProgramThe ORLP Program supports the creation and improvement of local parks and outdoor recreation spaces in qualifying urban areas of 25,000+ residents or in areas administered by Federally recognized Tribes. ORLP funds: Land acquisition, New Park development; and Renovation of existing outdoor recreation facilities. Awards range from $300,000 to $15 million.Applications are due to NPS each year by November 1 at 11:59 PM ET.The Trust for Public Land is working in partnership with the NPS to launch a new, no cost ORLP Technical Assistance Program.
