Featured Funding OpportunitiesConnectALL Deployment ProgramThe ConnectALL Deployment Program, with funding from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's (NTIA) Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program, will provide grants for broadband deployment to locations that do not currently have access to reliable, affordable, high-speed internet service. Eligible Applicants: corporations, local governments, regional planning boards, local development corporations, nonprofits, new entities created for the purposes of participating in the Program, or a consortium of multiple organizations with a single lead entity.Eligible Applicants Must Submit Proposals by February 7, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET New York State Community Reforestation (CoRe) Grant Program$15 million is available for municipalities, nonprofits, and State agencies through the Community Reforestation (CoRe) Grant program for tree planting projects that expand, restore and create forested natural areas that serve urban populations. This competitive reimbursement grant program contributes to New York State’s goal to plant 25 million trees by 2033, which will mitigate climate change impacts like extreme heat.CoRe grant applications are due by Wednesday March 12, 2025 at 2PM ET2025 Renew America's Schools PrizeThe U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Renew America’s Schools Prize, a $90 million investment in K-12 public schools and school facilities across the country. This three-phase opportunity will help districts build capacity, perform energy audits, and plan/implement energy improvement projects across a portfolio of school facilities. Apply for the 2025 Renew America's Schools Prize by April 3, 2025, at 5PM ET Apply for Heating and Cooling Assistance (HEAP)!Need help paying your energy bill? Low-income New Yorkers can apply for heating and cooling assistance under the Home Energy Assistance Program, or HEAP. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit opened November 1, 2024.Learn more about HEAP current monthly income limits. APPLY HERE! Weatherization Assistance ProgramThe NYS Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is the largest residential energy conservation program in the country. NYS WAP assists income-eligible homeowners and some renters in our state by reducing heating and cooling costs through energy-conservation measures, while also addressing health and safety issues in their homes.Households with incomes at or below 60% of state median income are eligible for assistance. If a household contains a member who receives Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) benefits or certain other forms of public assistance, the household is automatically eligible for NYS WAP services. Applications are accepted from renters, homeowners, and rental property owners. Potential program participants apply by contacting the WAP provider that serves their area.Find Your Weatherization Provider Here!Services include but are not limited to:sealing of cracks and holes to reduce heat loss;insulation of attics and walls;heating system repairs or replacement;providing efficient lighting and refrigeration;window and/or outside door repair or replacement;minor repairs which are needed to ensure maximum efficiency of the weatherization services performed; andmitigation of energy-related health and safety issues. Small Business ResourcesThe Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Since its start in 1984, the expert advisors of the Albany SBDC have worked directly with 28,053 businesses, helping them to invest $543,926,495 in the area's economy, and create or save 15,244 jobs.You can make an appointment for counseling by calling 518-442-7232 or filling out their online form.
