USDA Rural Development Housing Program Workshop – Thursday, April 7, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Lynch Literacy Academy in Amsterdam. This workshop will provide information on USDA Rural Development loans and loan guarantees to help low and moderate income persons purchase or build safe, affordable housing. USDA also offers fixed 1% interest rate loans for qualifying very low income homeowners to make repairs, improvements and/or accessibility modifications to their homes. Grants are also available to very low income homeowners who are at least 62 years of age and cannot repay a loan. Who should attend? Low- to moderate-income individuals or families interested in purchasing a home, very-low income homeowners in need of repair assistance or accessibility modification, realtors, lenders, housing advocates and community leaders.
