The New York State Library has been a patent depository library since 1871. That program has become the patent and trademark resource program. Library staff works with the federal government to assist inventors in doing preliminary patent and trademark searches and in disseminating information to inventors about how to use USPTO resources to get their inventions patented and connect them to small business resources. Two librarians from the US Patent and Trademark Office will be conducting a Patent and Trademark training at the New York State Library on May 18, 2017. The program is from 9:30-5, although people are welcome to attend whatever sessions are of interest. The program is free of charge. Information about the program is at http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/programs/patents.htm
