Featured Funding Opportunities and Grant Assistance:

USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program Workshop – March 9, 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon, Community Room at Amsterdam Riverfront Center. Looking to do major capital improvements or looking for major equipment acquisitions? The USDA Rural Development Community Facilities program provides loans, grants, and loan guarantees for essential community facilities in rural communities. The Community Facilities program can finance fixed structures including police and fire stations, schools, colleges and health care facilities along with   cultural resources including museums and libraries. The program is ideal for entities looking to afford major capital improvements/renovations and new construction projects. Entities can also finance the purchase of updated vehicles associated with law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, snow removal and road/infrastructure repair. There is no charge for the workshop. Call 843-3400 to register. 

USDA Rural Development Housing Program Workshop – April 7, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Lynch Literacy Academy. Who should attend this workshop? Low- to moderate-income individuals or families interested in purchasing a home, very-low-income homeowners in need of repair assistance or accessibility modifications, realtors, lenders, housing advocates and community leaders. There is no charge for the workshop. Call 843-3400 to register.

All eligible applicants must be registered and active in the System for Award Management (SAM) before you can submit a federal grant application.
To register, or validate your information, please visit: https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.
SAM.gov Registration Tips:
Please ensure the following items are current in SAM.gov and the DUNS number used in SAM.gov is the same one you use for all grant applications:

  • Organization’s name
  • Address
  • Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS)
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Banking information (type of account (checking or saving), routing number, and account number
  • Many websites may look official in appearance but are not. As a reminder, registration in SAM.gov is FREE
  • SAM.gov registration is only active for one year and must be renewed annually
  • FEMA has prepared a technical assistance document, the SAM.gov Get Ready Guide. This document is designed to walk you through the SAM.gov registration process
  • This information should be consistent in all registration documents
