Featured Funding Opportunities and Grant Assistance:
The U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced that federal economic injury disaster loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations located in New York as a result of frost, freeze and excessive snow from Jan. 1 through May 24, 2015. The disaster declaration includes Albany and Rensselaer counties. Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Disaster loan information and application forms may also be obtained by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov/disaster. Completed loan applications must be returned to SBA no later thanMay 9, 2016.
The USDA Rural Development Community Facility Loan Program has low interest loan money available (current interest rate is 3.625 percent). Under the CF Program loans/grants can be made to public bodies and non- profit organizations, located in areas with a population of 20,000 or less. The program helps communities provide vital services and amenities for their residents and visitors. This includes fire and rescue support services (such as fire halls, fire trucks, ambulances, and equipment), town halls, town barns, libraries, health care (hospitals, clinics, medical office buildings), museums, and schools.
