ALBANY, NY — Today, Congressman Paul D. Tonko (D-NY) announced the submission deadline for the Fiscal Year 2025 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests.

The deadline for submitting project requests is Monday, April 29th at 6:00pm. The application form, funding availability, and instructions on how to submit requests can be found on Tonko’s website HERE.

Tonko’s announcement comes the same day that the House Appropriations Committee released guidance and member deadlines for FY2025 CPF requests. Early last month, Tonko opened a preliminary application, citing guidance from the FY2024 process.

“Over the years, I’ve been proud to facilitate the Community Project Funding process, through which worthy local initiatives can apply for federal funding that supports our communities and helps to grow our regional economy,” Congressman Tonko said.As recently as this week, we are continuing to feel the lasting benefits that these innovative projects are delivering to our region. With that in mind, it’s my pleasure to once again announce that Capital Region organizations and local governments can apply for this federal funding. I look forward to reviewing this year’s batch of eligible projects and encourage those interested to submit their application as soon as possible.”

Citing the quick turnaround for applicants, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) maintained similar eligibility accounts, while noting one change that non-profits are no longer eligible for Community Project Funding in the Economic Development Initiative (EDI) account. As with last year’s process, the limit on the number of projects each member can request is 15. Community Project Funding is only eligible to local and state governments and non-profit organizations. For-profit entities are not eligible.

Prospective applicants can review guidance from the Committee HERE.
