Paul Tonko (NY-21) released the following statement today, following yesterday's CQ Press yearly report on the safety and crime level in 393 U.S. cities, entitled "City Crime Rankings 2009-2010: Crime in Metropolitan America." "I want to extend my congratulations to the city of Colonie on being named the safest city in America. This is a well deserved award which speaks to the integrity and value of our community. Government must work at all levels to ensure the safety of its citizens, which is one my top priorities. I want to congratulate the local government of Colonie on its hard work and dedication to safety and security in this family friendly city."
