Congressman Paul Tonko released the following statement after final passage of the bill extending emergency unemployment benefits through November 30, 2010:

“Today we have provided a small measure of relief to more than two and a half million unemployed Americans and 200,000 New Yorkers following seven weeks of obstruction by Senate Republicans. These emergency benefits offer a lifeline for families through the end of November as they continue to look for work. We must not abandon those who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own, and we must set aside politics and continue work on creating new jobs for Americans and improving the economy.”
