On Tuesday, Congressman Paul Tonko will highlight recent legislation introduced and passed in the House of Representatives that will help boost manufacturing and save or create new jobs while touring X-ray Optical Systems (XOS), a high tech manufacturer in East Greenbush.

This will be the first in a series of visits Congressman Tonko will be making to local manufacturers over the next few weeks.

The tour will start at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 17, at XOS, 15 Tech Valley Drive in East Greenbush.

XOS makes equipment and tools that detect contaminants and toxins in products ranging from petroleum to toys. XOS manufacturers its products here in the Capital Region and exports to countries around the world, including China. During the tour, Congressman Tonko will receive a demonstration on how to test a toy for toxins such as lead and cadmium.
