Congressman Paul Tonko and SuperPower will hold a news conference at 11am on Tuesday, August 31st, to announce a major federal grant which will enable the company to collaborate on research and development into technologies that will improve the reliability and efficiency of the electric grid. A tour of SuperPower’s facility in Schenectady will follow the announcement.
They will be joined by SuperPower’s partners in the project, which include the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, the Brookhaven National Laboratory, ABB Inc., and the University of Houston.
The event is a continuation of Congressman Tonko’s tour of local manufacturers to discuss the House of Representatives’ agenda to support manufacturing in America and create new jobs.
