TONKO TO TOUR CRYSTAL IS, DISCUSS MAJOR FEDERAL GRANT

Congressman Paul Tonko will meet with officials at Crystal IS and tour their Green Island facility on Tuesday, June 28th at 1130 A.M.
Congressman Paul Tonko will meet with officials at Crystal IS and tour their Green Island facility on Tuesday, June 28th at 1130 A.M. The visit is a continuation of Congressman Tonko’s tours of local companies to highlight House Democrats’ “Make it in America” agenda aimed at boosting manufacturing and creating new jobs. As part of the tour, Congressman Tonko will discuss a $5 million grant awarded to Crystal IS by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop water purification technology. DARPA has pioneered many advancements we take for granted today, including Global Positioning Systems (GPS), the internet, and stealth technology. Crystal IS is a leader in the development of ultraviolet light emitting diodes (UVC LEDs) for the cost-effective production of long-lasting, energy efficient water and air purification devices.
