Congressman Paul Tonko released the following statement in reaction to a recently proposed rule change by the National Labor Relations Board to regulations governing labor union representation elections:

“I applaud the NLRB for this proposed rule change which will allow workers to exercise their right to join in a union with a process that is streamlined and timely, replacing current procedures that lead to delays and provide opportunities for intimidation. This proposed rule change is about fairness, it’s about strengthening the rights of middle class workers to pursue financial stability and security for their families, and to have a voice regarding their working conditions.”
