TONKO, OWENS, TO TOUR FMCC THURSDAY

Congressman Paul Tonko and Congressman Bill Owens will tour Fulton Montgomery Community College in Johnstown on Thursday, September 1st, starting at 11 A.M., to highlight the college's Center for Engineering and Technology (CET).
Congressman Paul Tonko and Congressman Bill Owens will tour Fulton Montgomery Community College in Johnstown on Thursday, September 1st, starting at 11 A.M., to highlight the college’s Center for Engineering and Technology (CET). Congressman Tonko and Congressman Owens will be joined on the tour by FMCC President Dusty Swanger, the FMCC Board of Trustees, and faculty members. FMCC’s Center for Engineering and Technology includes a clean room and automated manufacturing lab, which are dedicated to training students for jobs like those available at local companies like General Electric and Global Foundries. Congressman Tonko helped secure funds for the creation of the CET. Congressman Tonko and Congressman Owens will be calling for a renewed focus on investments in higher education and workforce training and development that will provide the skills needed to fill advanced manufacturing and high technology jobs.
