WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Paul D. Tonko, one of only a handful of engineers in Congress, marked Manufacturing Day today by announcing a grant totaling $753,546 awarded to FuzeHub, Inc. to provide guidance and support startup creation for manufacturing and technology companies across New York State. The award will be delivered by the Economic Development Administration.
“As an engineer, I understand firsthand the vital importance of investing in and strengthening American manufacturing,” Congressman Tonko said. “For years I have pushed for bold investments in this vital industry that bolster our economy, create good-paying jobs and support U.S. competitiveness abroad. Most recently, I am pushing to advance the Build Back Better Act, which includes tens of billions of dollars for clean energy technology manufacturing and shoring up domestic supply chains. I will continue working to deliver legislation that drives our region and nation towards a 21st century economy. My congratulations to FuzeHub on their deserved award and for their commitment to supporting manufacturers across our state.”
As a member of the House Manufacturing Caucus and the Science, Space and Technology Committee—which has jurisdiction over federal research, manufacturing and related workforce issues—Tonko has led on numerous actions to support and expand U.S. manufacturing. This year, he introduced the Manufacturing for Our Future Act that bolsters U.S. job growth and drives clean energy innovation through federal incentives for domestic manufacturing of clean energy systems such as wind and solar power or electric vehicles and related infrastructure.
