The annual Congressional Art Competition celebrates the artistic achievements of U.S. high school students. This year, for the first time, Congressman Tonko’s office conducted the annual competition entirely by electronic submission. Art work was submitted by students and schools across New York’s 20th Congressional District.
“Our region has long been a home and haven for gifted artists and artisans, and this year’s Congressional Art Competition entries are no exception. My congratulations and thanks to the many gifted students who submitted their work this year, and to the extraordinary art teachers in our region who helped make this annual student art competition possible under such unique circumstances.”
Once health and safety permits, the winner will be honored at a reception in Washington D.C. and have their artwork displayed in the Capitol for the following year. In the interim, student submissions can be viewed via virtual gallery hosted by the Arts Center of the Capital Region, https://www.artscenteronline.org/2020-congressional-art-competition-virtual-gallery/
