Tonko Statement on Passing of Peter Pryor

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Paul D. Tonko released the following statement today on the passing of local civil rights lawyer Peter M. Pryor: “We have lost a local legend and a giant in the fight for equality for all. I am indeed heartbroken to hear about the passing of Peter M. Pryor. He believed wholeheartedly in the dream and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and helped further that vision throughout his illustrious legal career. “His tenacity, compassion, and unceasing fight for a better world have inspired countless people in the field of law and well beyond. He truly was a drum major for justice. My deepest condolences to his wife, Barbara, and to his children and grandchildren.”
