This Wednesday, Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20) will host Dr. David Danielson, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), to meet for a roundtable dialogue about ongoing work and opportunities for collaboration with DOE. Danielson and Tonko will also hear from local stakeholders from academic, business, start-ups, government, and non-profit communities about the work they are doing and how the federal government might enhance their efforts locally.
“The Capital Region is one of the hottest pieces of real estate in the country for investment in technology and renewable energy,” said Tonko. “I look forward to meeting with Dr. Danielson and discussing why our highly skilled workforce and world-renowned academic and research institutions make our region the perfect place for responsible federal investment in America’s energy future.”
Wednesday’s availability will be the only public appearance for Danielson, and will mark the second time in two weeks that a White House official has visited the Capital District. On July 30, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Congressman Tonko met with SEMATECH and CNSE in Albany to discuss how public and private sectors can work together to advance innovation and investment.
