Tonko Announces $441,667 for Area Health Center

Congressman Paul Tonko announced today that Schenectady Family Health Services, Inc. is slated to receive $441,667 in funding to expand access to health care for Capital Region residents. These funds, made possible through the Affordable Care Act, will allow the Schenectady facility to support establishment of new full-time service delivery sites.

Congressman Paul Tonko announced today that Schenectady Family Health Services, Inc. is slated to receive $441,667 in funding to expand access to health care for Capital Region residents. These funds, made possible through the Affordable Care Act, will allow the Schenectady facility to support establishment of new full-time service delivery sites.

“Community health centers are critical to the delivery of care in the Capital Region, ensuring access to comprehensive health services to many of New York's most vulnerable," said Tonko."With this funding, Schenectady Family Health Services will have the tools they need to expand their services to even more families in the area -- improving health outcomes and bringing down overall costs in the long run."

In total, five New York community health centers will receive a total of $2,762,501, which will expand health care access to 29,493 residents statewide. Nationwide, 236 health center programs will receive approximately $150 million in grant awards to serve more than 1.25 million additional patients.
