ALBANY, NY — Today, Congressman Paul D. Tonko launched his inaugural “Valentines for Vets” initiative. Through this program, Congressman Tonko is inviting students and all other members of our Capital Region community to mail or drop off cards to his district offices in Albany and Saratoga Springs to deliver to local veterans and those who serve them this Valentine’s Day.

“Across our nation, millions of veterans have shown their love and devotion to the United States of America by putting their lives on the line to defend our values, our country, and all those who call it home,” Congressman Tonko said. “Now, I’m thrilled to launch this new initiative to allow members of our community to show their own love and gratitude for the sacrifices our veterans have made. I encourage students and all residents of our Capital Region to participate in this program and help give our veterans the appreciation they deserve.”

Congressman Tonko and his team are reaching out directly to schools and community groups across the Capital Region to coordinate this effort. Once collected, the cards delivered to Tonko’s offices will be delivered to local veterans for Valentine’s Day.

Participants are asked to mail or drop off their Valentine’s Day cards to either Congressman Tonko’s Albany office, located at 19 Dove Street, Unit 302, Albany, New York 12210, or to his Saratoga Springs office, located at 433 Broadway, Suite 201, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866.

To ensure timely delivery, mailed cards should be postmarked no later than Friday, February 7th, 2025. Cards delivered in person to Congressman Tonko’s offices should be dropped off no later than Thursday, February 13th, 2025 at 5:00 PM. For more information or questions about the Valentines for Vets initiative, please contact Congressman Tonko’s Albany office at 518-465-0700.
