Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY) released the following statement this evening on the anniversary of September 11th.
"Today we pause in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as their loved ones, whose lives changed forever on that day. In the wake of the tragic events and every day since, we saw astonishing courage and selflessness from New York’s and the nation’s first responders, who sacrificed their health, safety and lives to save others. I thank Capital Region first responders for their efforts to keep our communities safe, and my thoughts and prayers are with those who lost loved ones 13 years ago. They are not forgotten.
“We continue to face threats from terrorists and extremist groups abroad. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress and the Administration to ensure those responsible for the attacks of 9/11 and terrorist attacks against Americans since then are brought to justice.”
