Tonko Announces $1,862,994 for Upgrades at Albany, Schenectady Airports

ALBANY, NYRep. Paul Tonko (D-NY) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded several grants to the Albany and Schenectady airports totaling $1,862,994. These awards include $1,493,994 to reconstruct taxiway lighting and $90,000 to improve storm water runoff drainage at Albany International Airport, as well as $279,000 to reconstruct airfield guidance signs and runway lighting at Schenectady County Airport.

Albany International Airport is a publicly-owned facility that maintains approximately 15,700 feet of runway. Schenectady County Airport is a publicly-owned facility that maintains approximately 11,851 feet of runway.
