Funding for several Capital Region projects from across the 21st Congressional District was approved as part of the House FY09 Omnibus Appropriations Act, Rep. Paul Tonko (D-Amsterdam) announced today.
The local projects were submitted by Rep. Michael McNulty, who retired last year, and carried through by Rep. Tonko. "These projects will continue to lay the ground work for research, innovation and community outreach at local colleges and universities, provide needed funds for economic development, law enforcement, and transportation," said Rep. Tonko. "We are grateful to Congressman McNulty for initiating these projects." The bill is now headed to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
