Last night, the House voted to restore vital Affordable Care Act benefits and help drive down healthcare costs for millions. The Senate must now act to pass this bill and ease the burden of rising costs being felt by so many Americans, including one of my constituents from NY-20, Mekhiya.

Instead of protecting healthcare and extending Affordable Care Act subsidies set to expire, the House is voting today on yet another anti-LGBTQ+ bill that denies trans youth the care they need. I stand with our trans community in rejecting this cruel bill.

Today, November 19, 2025, my bill, H.R. 1355, the Weatherization Enhancement and Readiness Act was passed out of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy. This bipartisan bill invests in home weatherization efforts to save low-income families hundreds of dollars on their energy bills while making homes safer, healthier, and more energy efficient. I’ll continue pushing to enact this bill and make certain that weatherization works for all in our communities.

Republicans couldn't be bothered to restore vital health care benefits for working families in their rotten budget, but they did sneak in a provision that would give millions in taxpayer dollars to a handful of GOP senators. This is corruption, plain and simple.
