Republicans have spent the last decade and a half working to defund and repeal affordable health care, yet in all that time, they’ve never had a solution to replace these programs with something better. That needs to end. The American people deserve action to bring down costs now.

Today, November 19, 2025, my bill, H.R. 1355, the Weatherization Enhancement and Readiness Act was passed out of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy. This bipartisan bill invests in home weatherization efforts to save low-income families hundreds of dollars on their energy bills while making homes safer, healthier, and more energy efficient. I’ll continue pushing to enact this bill and make certain that weatherization works for all in our communities.

Republicans couldn't be bothered to restore vital health care benefits for working families in their rotten budget, but they did sneak in a provision that would give millions in taxpayer dollars to a handful of GOP senators. This is corruption, plain and simple.

My Republican colleagues want to pat themselves on the back for passing the SUPPORT Act. Yet, at the same time, they are rubber-stamping devastating cuts by this administration to our nation’s addiction and mental health programs. It’s unacceptable and a slap in the face to anyone impacted by the disease of addiction or struggling with mental illness.
